New member in Warwickshire

Postby Gillsaker » Thu May 15, 2014 5:06 pm

I am a new member in warwickshire. I found it interesting to trace my family tree and wish to take this further. I am trying to do some homework and am a little stumped when I can't find a death certificate, can anyone help me with any advice when this happens.

often the registration of a death may be delayed if there is an inquest, and the coroner gets involved it may be months and even years so widen the search after a suspected year of death as much as 5 years.

births in say December for example would typically not be registered until Jan in the next year.

You are not saying where you are looking and what methods you are using.

If you are looking on line then you will not find deaths listed after 2006.

You have to go to one of the establishments that hold the index records.

Local register offices can be difficult if you do not know the date of the death and the place.

Thank you that's really helpful.
